I love old movies. If you’ve been following my blog for long, you know this. I can get a little long-winded about the comedy, the characters, the social commentary… but sometimes, all I want to do is talk about the dresses. So every now and again, I’ll be highlighting the gorgeous gowns, the stunning shifts and the fabulous frocks that graced the cinematic screen.
Up first: Myrna Loy as Nora Charles in the 1934 classic The Thin Man.
The striped dress. Oh-holy-mother. I love this dress. The stripes, the ruffles, the style—love it all.
Nora wears it to a Christmas party which she and Nick throw in their apartment.
(And just because I loves ya, baby, here’s a collection of some of the funniest moments in The Thin Man. Cause it’s Monday, and we can all use some more of the funny on Monday.)
