Getting Ready for Japan

It’s official. I just gave my digits (the sixteen on the little plastic card, not the seven on my phone bill) to a travel agent booking the 2011 Japan Peace Seminar trip.

Like last year, we’ll be spending the first few days of August in Kyoto attending seminars, doing a bit of sightseeing and meeting with hibakusha before traveling to Hiroshima to attend memorial services on August 7,  and then traveling down to Nagasaki for memorial services in that city on August 9.

I’m very excited. I can’t quite believe I get to go again. And you all, of course, will hear all about my preparations (reading, research, packing and shopping) right here.

Because I’m cool like that.
